dc.description.abstractUtilization of water energy is one of the great potential of renewable energy in Indonesia, which one of its utilization for power generation. If harnessed the energy of water will reduce the electricity crisis in Indonesia. Rural communities are still many who do not get the flow of electricity. Micr hydro power plant (MHP) can help to meet the electricity needs in areas not reached by electricity. In this study the scale prototype turbine testing will facilitate in the actual application in the field. Purpose of this research is a) to determine the design of a prototype model of Crossflow turbine; b) to calculate the power generated by the Crossflow turbine with a certain height and discharge have been determined; c) to calculate the efficiency of Crossflow turbine. The method used consists of several stages of preliminary research, Crossflow turbine design, Crossflow turbine assembly, Crossflow turbine testing, data retrieval and data analysis. Sources of data used in the form of primary data obtained during the research and secondary data obtained from literature. The research results include a major component in the design of the turbine house Crossflow turbines, turbine blades, PVC pipe, forebay, nozzle, and sink disposal. Power generated at 1inch pipe that is 43.2 Watt, on a 1.5 inch pipe that is 83.2 Watts, while the 2 inch pipe that is 16.9 Watt. At 1.5 inch pipe has the greatest power because of the width of the nozzle being used matches the size of the pipe, so that no air is trapped in the nozzle, and the water entering the turbine is not too much.en_US
