dc.description.abstract | Polyphenol sensor based on sodium meta periodate and 3-methyl-2benzothiazolinone
is an analysis device for detecting polyphenol in beverage tea
product. The purpose of sensor development is for controling the quality of
beverage tea product especially green tea product simply, easily, and efficiently.
The polyphenol sensor has been made by immobilized reagent (mixed of 8mM
sodium meta periodate (NaIO
) and 24 mM 3-methyl-2-benzothiazolinone
hidrazone (MBTH) (1,5:1 v/v)) on whatmann filter paper with a volume of 10 µl.
Polyphenol sensor has been characterized and the result is polyphenol sensor has
response time about 9 minutes, has linearity at concentration range 25-300 ppm,
with correlation coefficient (r) =0,999. This polyphenol sensor has sensitivity
about 0,1566 per ppm, while LOD = 10,199 ppm CE and LOQ = 33,997 ppm CE.
Interference or selectivity of the polyphenol sensor by Vitamin C produce
interference less than 5% untill 1000 ppm of vitamin C (1500 µg). Sensor
precision parameter comply with RSD < 2% which exactly 0,628% and the
accuracy parameter of polyphenol sensor has a value of recovery about 96,784%.
This polyphenol sensor has been applied to some beverage green tea product and
this methode give results that significantly indifference with spectrophotometry
