Exploring A Pre-Service English Teacher Language Awareness A Case Study Research
Abstract
This study aims to explore pre-service English teacher language awareness. It analyzed pre-service English teachers' language awareness when they taught in a class by referring to the 5 domains of Language Awareness, namely; (1) Affective Domain, (2) Social Domain, (3) Power Domain, (4) Performance Domain, and (5) Cognitive Domain. A qualitative case study was employed in this study. The participant of this research is a pre-service English teacher who had already taken the Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG). The data were collected by using video observations and semi-structured interviews. The thematic analysis revealed that pre-service English teacher has good language awareness through the fulfillment of the 5 domains of Language Awareness when they teach English in a classroom.
