Analisis Karakter Agronomi F1 Hasil Persilangan Padi Ketan Putih Varietas Paketih dengan Padi Hitam Lokal Purwokerto
Abstract
Black rice is a functional ingredient that contains high anthocyanins. Anthocyanins act as antioxidants and can prevent several degenerative diseases. However, local black rice cultivated in Indonesia has several shortcomings such as high plant size, deep harvest age and relatively low productivity, and has a hard or firm rice texture. Paketih is one of the superior glutinous rice varieties that has high productivity and lodging resistance, but does not have high anthocyanins. This research aims to assemble superior varieties by using white glutinous rice variety Paketih with local black rice Purwokerto. This research was conducted with molecular methods MAS approach by detecting the linkage of rice color traits using SSR markers. The marker used was RM 252. The data obtained were then analyzed using independent sample T-test. The results showed that the visualization of genotypes in F1 plants showed differences in the size of DNA bands with both parents clearly. Visualization of phenotypes showed the emergence of new characteristics of F1 plants that are a combination of two parent traits, such as plant height, number of total and productive tillers, flowering age, panicle length, number of grains per panicle, percentage of empty grains per panicle, weight of filled grains per clump, and weight of 1000 grains.
