Analisis Ketahanan Fatigue pada Chassis Mobil Prototype Diesel Senapati Tim Tawang Alun
Abstract
The development of vehicles in Indonesia using efficient fuel is one of the efforts to
reduce the use of vehicle fuel. Technologies related to fuel-efficient vehicles are
used to minimize the use of non-renewable fuels, one of the realizations is by
organizing the Energy-Saving Car Contest (KMHE). Mobil Irit Tawang Alun is a
community of mechanical engineering students at the University of Jember that
focuses on developing energy efficient cars. Fatigue is a form of failure that occurs
in structures from dynamic stresses. Fatigue testing of the chassis is needed to
determine the period for repair/maintenance and to determine the period for repair
or serviceability of the chassis. The finite element method divides a structure into
elements that are connected at nodes. This process produces several simultaneous
algebraic equations which will be solved using polynomial interpolation. This study
uses variables: 1) independent: aluminum 6061 material and aluminum 7075
material, 2) bound: equivalent von mises stress, fatigue life, fatigue damage, and
safety factor, 3) control: support and constant load.
