dc.description.abstractThe development of vehicles in Indonesia using efficient fuel is one of the efforts to reduce the use of vehicle fuel. Technologies related to fuel-efficient vehicles are used to minimize the use of non-renewable fuels, one of the realizations is by organizing the Energy-Saving Car Contest (KMHE). Mobil Irit Tawang Alun is a community of mechanical engineering students at the University of Jember that focuses on developing energy efficient cars. Fatigue is a form of failure that occurs in structures from dynamic stresses. Fatigue testing of the chassis is needed to determine the period for repair/maintenance and to determine the period for repair or serviceability of the chassis. The finite element method divides a structure into elements that are connected at nodes. This process produces several simultaneous algebraic equations which will be solved using polynomial interpolation. This study uses variables: 1) independent: aluminum 6061 material and aluminum 7075 material, 2) bound: equivalent von mises stress, fatigue life, fatigue damage, and safety factor, 3) control: support and constant load.en_US
