    Abstract
This research was conducted to synthesize TiO2 nanotubes to determine the effect of stirring times during the hydrothermal process. TiO2 nanotubes were synthesis by one-step hydrothermal process from TiO2 micropowder as a precursor. TiO2 micropowder was mixed with 10 M NaOH and treated hydrothermally at 130 °C in an autoclave for 24 hours with stirring. The variations of stirring time that have been used are 10, 15 and 20 minutes/hour. The synthesized TiO2 nanotube were characterized using SEM, TEM, XRD, SAA, and UV-Vis DRS. The synthesized TNT was applied as photocalyst in degrading diazinon compounds. The results of this study indicate that TNT has the form of a fiber with particle sizes ranging from 12-69 nm. The tubular structure of TNT was observed by TEM has inner, outer, and thickness with 3.31 nm, 6.15 nm and 1,64 nm. TNT 15 minutes/hour has anatase with high crystallinity. Sodium titanate was detected in the TNT 10 minutes/hour and TNT 20 minutes/hour. The surface area increases with increasing sodium titanate content in the sample. Furthermore, a small pore size results in a large surface area and total pore volume. The photocatalytic activity of TNT was carried out on the organic pollutant diazinon with variations of irradiation. The optimum conditions for the TNT photocatalytic in this study were observed in the TNT 20 minutes/hour, which showed 90% diazinon degradation during 210 minutes of irradiation.
