Preferensi Pakan Burung Hama Bondol Jawa (Lonchura Leucogastroides) pada Dua Tipe Pengelolaan Padi Secara Organik dan Konvensional di Kabupaten Jember
Abstract
Birds are one of the pests in rice cultivation. Bullying birds generally come from
the Estrididae family. Javan Munia is a species in the Estrididae family that has
the potential to become a pest compared to other species. This is because the
Javan Munia population is higher than other species in the Estrididae family, has
a high level of seed consumption (1/4 of body weight), is adaptive to the
environment and lives in groups. Research was conducted to determine Javan
Munia's feed preferences for two types of organic and conventional rice
management in Jember Regency. The method used in the research is purposive.
Data collection was carried out using the point count technique with a radius of
20m at 06.00 – 10.00 WIB with a time duration of 20. Observation data was
analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, the Independent Samples Test and
the Paired Samples Test, with a confidence level of 95%. The research results
showed that there were significant differences in the overall parameters, namely
the Javan Munia population (0.001) and Foraging activity (0.001) and Passing
activity parameters (0.013). This is because organic rice management is free from
chemical residues compared to conventional management, besides that organic
management has shadier conditions.
