NILAI EKOLOGI DAN TINGKAT KERUSAKAN VEGETASI POHON DI EKOSISTEM HUTAN BLOK BON-PANTAI RESORT BANDEALIT, TAMAN NASIONAL MERU BETIRI
Abstract
The secondary forest in Bon Pantai Block, Bandealit Resort, Meru Betiri National Park was known to have been damaged by illegal logging and there is some area that converted into agricultural land. This damage needs to be evaluated by directly and indirectly observation. Direct observation is observe the area by estimate the ecological value, while indirect observation is observe the area by estimate the greenes level using NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) index. Ecological valuation is a method to value the ecosystem or a vegetation based on their goods (including woods, fruits and leaves) and services (including CO2 absorption and O2 release). NDVI is an index that generally used to estimate the greenes level of a vegetation or area by calculating the reflectance light from the surface include the canopy vegetation. This study aims to determine the ecological value and the greeenes level of vegetation in Bon Pantai Block, Bandealit Resort, Meru Betiri National Park. The plots method of 10x10 meteres was used to collect the vegetation data such as stem circumference at dbh, tree height and wide of canopy to estimate the ecological value, while the NDVI data was collected from Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS data. The ecological value (I€) of the tree vegetation was calculated by Sulistiyowati-Buot ecoval formula. Three location was choosed to determine the difference condition of vegetation, B and D was the location after illegal logging, while the N was the natural forest. The estimated ecological value of this research area was Rp. 1.233.070.602 in D location and Rp. 5.557.560.116 in N location, while the B location was not estimated because of the total convertion into agricultural. The calculated greenes level of this research area was medium (0.3193) in B location, high in D and N location (0.3878 and 0.3534 respectively
