Abstract
21st-century learning requires students to have good digital literacy and a
high interest in learning. However, in reality, students' digital literacy and interest
in learning remain low, especially when it comes to complex material such as the
circulatory system, which cannot be observed with the naked eye. Conventional
learning methods cause students to be less active and have difficulty understanding
concepts. Therefore, learning models and media that can optimize brain function
and utilize technology interactively are needed. This study aimed to determine the
effect of the Brain-Based Learning model using Lumio media on the digital literacy
and learning interest of high school students. This study used a quasi-experimental,
unequivalent pretest-posttest control-group design. The research sample consisted
of 11th-grade students at SMA Negeri 5 Jember, divided into class XI-1 as the
experimental class and class XI-3 as the control class. Data were collected through
digital literacy and learning interest questionnaires, then analyzed using the
ANCOVA test. The results showed that students in the experimental class had
higher average digital literacy and learning interest than those in the control class,
with a significance value of P < 0.05. This indicates that the application of the
Brain-Based Learning model using Lumio media in the blood circulation system
material had a significant effect on the digital literacy and learning interest of high
school students.
