HUBUNGAN KOMUNIKASI PERAWAT DENGAN TINGKAT STRES PASIEN POST OPERASI LAPARATOMI DI RSD dr. SUBANDI JEMBER

Abstract

Laparotomy is a surgery causing anxiety or pain afterwards leading to stress in many patients undergoing surgery. The role of nurses’ communication is needed to reduce the stress experienced by the postoperative patients. This research aims to determine the relationship between nurses’ communication and patients’ stress level post laparotomy surgery in RSD dr. Subandi Jember. The design used in this research is a descriptive analysis with cross sectional approach. The research population is all patients post laparotomy surgery in RSD dr. Subandi Jember during the months of January-February 2011. The sampling technique used here is purposive sampling accidental. Based on the inclusion criteria, the sample in this research is as many as 25 people. The data Analysis of this research is using Spearman rank test with 95% reliance level (α = 0.05). From the result, it is obtained the value of p = 0.004 (p <α) meaning that there is a relationship between nurses’ communication and patients’ stress level post laparotomy surgery in RSD dr. Subandi Jember.
