Abstract
This research was motivated by the limited integration of local history in textbooks
and the low learning outcomes of eleventh-grade students due to monotonous and
unmotivating learning models. This study aimed to develop, validate, and test the
effectiveness of an e-module on the local history of KH. Ahmad Siddiq's struggle
in Jember, supported by a Joyful Learning-based flipbook, in improving student
learning outcomes at MAN 1 Jember. The method used was Research and
Development (R&D) with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development,
Implementation, Evaluation) model. The Joyful Learning approach was integrated
to create interactive, collaborative, and enjoyable learning to increase student
engagement. Expert validation results indicated that the developed e-module was
highly feasible. The validation results were obtained by the language expert with a
score of 98.57% (very good), the design expert with a score of 96% (very good),
and the material expert with a score of 72.86% (sufficient with improvements as
suggested). Product effectiveness was measured through pretest and posttest scores.
In the small group trial, learning outcomes increased by 15.97%. Meanwhile, in the
large-group trial, the experimental class using the e-module experienced a 27.32%
increase in learning outcomes, significantly higher than the control class, which
only achieved a 13.82% increase. Based on these results, it can be concluded that
the Joyful Learning-based local history e-module effectively increased the
enthusiasm and learning outcomes of MAN 1 Jember students.
