The ASC are somewhat unique, since the ASC commits more to respond broad definition of security: NTS that put security on many dimensions of threats faced by states and other actors in regional dynamics. These include post financial crisis impacts, terrorism, and other new issues such as: migrant workers, ecological degradation, HIV/AIDS, drug trafficking and others. Moreover, with regards to the various backgrounds of its members, politically, economically, and even in terms of strategic motives, the ASC functions as a ‘locomotive’ pulling all members to embrace ‘common values,’ as it encourages all members to identify democracy and human rights as their goals. As the ASC is the outcome of three layers, global politics, regional dynamic and Indonesian factor, then the discussion throws light on the fact that the ASC is a consequence of multi-level ‘games’ and purposes.en_US
