PTPN X; (2) analyzing the performance of the sugarcane supply chain in PTPN X; (3)
synthesize efforts that can be done to improve the performance of the sugarcane supply chain
in PTPN X. This research is a descriptive study. The object of the research was determined
purposively, namely the work area of the PTPN X sugar factory in Kediri, East Java. The
sample of the research was sugar cane farmers represented by the Association of People’s
Sugarcane Farmers (APTR) and three Sugar Factories namely the sugar factory Gempol
Krep, the sugar factory of the Pesantren Baru and the sugar factory Ngadirejo. The results
of the study concluded that in the PTPN X working area, there is a structure of sugarcane
supply chains that have not been effective and effi cient. Sugarcane supply chain performance
tends fl uctuate or unstable. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve the performance of
the sugarcane supply chain, among others through improving the management of farmers’
farming, mechanization of the transport cutting staff, and the integration policy of the sugar
industry management. The policy implication of the results of this study is that the core
supply chain management is the relationship of several actors in the agribusiness chain to
