In line with the adoption of constructivism as the teaching philosophy, evaluation strategies are also required to be adapted with the teaching philosophy. The paper-pencil test, which was widely used, should not be used as the only means of assessment due to its inability to document a complex picture of students’ learning. For documenting the process as well as the outcomes of learning in the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domain, authentic assessment is recommended to be employed by the teachers. For such a purpose, this paper will discuss the characteristics, types, and procedures for conducting authentic assessment.en_US
