dc.description.abstract | ackgroung: Knowledge is one of the important factors that affect the dental caries level. A
good knowledge about dental and oral health will increase the individual awareness to oral health
maintenance. Besides i t, it can suppress the caries incidence. Objective: This research was aimed to
determine the affect of dental and oral health knowledge to dental caries particularly in pond
community at Banjar Kemuning, Sedati, Sidoarjo. Methods: this study was analytic observational with
cross-secti onal design. The total respondents were 96 people who live in Banjar Kemuni ng. Results: The
respondents who had a good level of knowledge presented 2 people with very low, 2 people with
low, 7 people with medium, 5 people with high, and 7 people very high DMF-t i ndex. The respondents
who had a medi um level of knowledge presented 3 people in very low, 2 people in low, 3 people in
medium, 4 people in high, and 34 people in very high level of DMF-t. There were no samples with poor
knowledge who had very low and low DMF-T index, while 1 people with medium DMF-T index, 4
people with high, and 22 people with very high. The results were analyzed using ordinal regression test
with significant value (0.001). Conclusion: It can be concl uded dental caries was affected by
knowledge on oral health. | en_US |
