dc.description.abstractThis research was intended to investigate the effect of using crossword puzzle on the eighth grade students’ vocabulary achievement. The design of this research was quasi-experimental research with post-test only design. The research area was chosen by using purposive method that was SMP Plus Darus Sholah. The research respondents were determined through cluster random sampling based on the results of the homogeneity test. The numbers of the respondent were 59 students, consisting of 30 students of VIIIC as the experimental group and 29 students of VIIIG as the control group. The experimental group was taught by using crossword puzzle game. The research data were analyzed by using independent sample T-Test in SPSS program. The result of the analysis showed that the sig. Value of t-test was 0.036 (less than 0,05). It indicated that there was a significant effect of using crossword puzzle on the eighth grade students’ vocabulary achievement.en_US
