Objective: The impact of losing teeth can disturb the intake of nutrition because
of the decreasing of the mastication, dysfunction of phonetic functions so we can't spell
some alphabet and uncomfortable feeling. Many people think that losing teeth is not a big
problem that can run your life so the small percentage of the usage of denture. Patients'
characteristics, socio-demography knowledge and level can affect someone's motivation
to take a decision to get a prosthetic care. The characteristics of the patients that take
treatment from RSGM Universitas .Jernber are about gender (male/female), age and
education level. Objective:The purpose of this study is to know the correlation between
patients' with partial tooth loss characters and patients' motivation to use denture at RSGM
of Jember University. Materials and methods: An observational analytical researoh with
cross sectional approach. All patients who attended the oral diagnostic department at RSGM
of Jemcer University on January-Maret 2016 were chosen as samples with total number
of 106 patients. The study used intraoral examination and questionnaires. The data were
analyzed using Chi-Squareand Rank Spearman test. Results and Oiscussion:The result
of statistical analysis is there are correlation between patients' characteristics (education)
with {he motivation to use denture p<0,05, but there's no correlation between gender, age
of the patients with their motivation to use denture (p>0,05)).
