Background. Family history is thought to play a role in patients suffering from Recurrent
Aphthous Stomatitis (RAS). The presence of RAS with family history is helpful in determining the
possibility of hereditary factors in patients with RAS. Hereditary or genetic is one of the predisposing
factors of RAS that still can not be fully explained. Purpose. The aim of this study is to determine the
incidence of RAS patients with family history at the clinic OM RSGM FKG UNEJ. Methods. This study
used descriptive analysis on data obtained from the results of tests conducted on patients at the Oral
Medicine clinic. Results. RAS patients constituted 28.45% of the total nine groups of cases in patients
who came at the Oral Medicine Clinic. Later, 73% of RAS patients with a history of parents or siblings
suffering from RAS, 18%was due to hormonal predisposing factors and 9% due to other predisposing
factors. Conclusion RAS patients were the most common cases of nine case groups. The RAS with
family history is the largest percentage of patients coming to the OM RSGM UNEJ clinic.
