Background: anxiety is a feeling of worry about something that has not happened yet wich is
followed by physiological changes. Students feel anxiety before performing tooth extractions because
of the afterward treatment which is sometimes risky. Thus murottal Qur'an is a stimulant that can affect
brain activity and reduce anxiety. Objective: this study was to determine the effect of murottal Qur'an
to anxiety students pre tooth extraction. Methods: this study employed pretest-posttest design. Total
respondents were 25 students, by purposive sampling method. Respondent was seated on a dental
chair in a fowler position, then they needed to answer GAD7 quitionaire. Respondent was examined
his vital signs (sistolic, diastlic, pulse, breath). Respondent listened to Quran for 3 minute. Respondent
was examined his vital signs after listened quran. Result: one way test showed significant value of 0.03
systole, pulse 0,016 and respiration 0.00 (<0.05) mean, while the diastole was 0,597 showed no
signiicant difference. Conclusion: murottal Qur'an could reduce students anxiety pre tooth extraction.
