dc.description.abstract | Background. Early childhood caries (EEC) is a chronic disease that attacks children under 6
years. In the initial phase, the development is very fast by attacking third cervical. The disorder is
generally occured in the maxillary anterior teeth. Its prevalence is quite high. If the EEC does not be
prevented, it will lead on function and pronunciation failure. Purpose. The purpose of this study was to
determine how the level of preventive care needs EEC preschool children in kindergarten / early
childhood As-Salam and Aster 45. Method. This research is a cross-sectional observation. Survey was
conducted on 150 children of students of kindergarten/early childhood As-Salam and Aster 45.
Observation data were decay, exfoliated, filling- teeth (def-t) and oral hygienes index-simplified (OHIS).
The data were analysed need level of preventive care in precent (%). Result. Need level of
preventive care were 40% and 50% at As-Salam and Aster 45 kindergarten respectively require
atraumatic restoration treatment (ART). Conclusion. All of students needs dental healt education
(DHE) action to change habitual and prevent ECC become deeper and more severe. Fluor is
