Contraceptives injection is one of hormones contraceptives
contained of progesteron and estrogen-progesteron combination. Both of them could
influence the inflamation response of gingival tissue or gingivitis. Objective: To determine
the gingivitis severity of contraceptives injection users contain of progesteron and
estrogen-progesteron hormones and the difference of gingivitis severity between
contraceptives injection users contain of progesteron and estrogen-progesteron hormones
on Puskesmas Sumbersari Jember Regency. Method: Research carried out by checked the
gingival status of the sample by using Gingival Indek Loe & Silness. Sample consisted of
25 contraceptives injection users containing progesteron and 25 users containing
estrogen-proogesterone hormones. The data were analysed with statistic independent-t
test. Result: All of respondense from each group were suffering gingivitis and the highest
percentage criteria was medium gingivitis. Conclusion: All of respondense from each
group are suffering same medium gingivitis severity.
