dc.description.abstractIn Indonesia, cocoa planting almost completely used the material plant of seed origin. This condition is the main cause of diversity productivity and the quality of the cocoa seed. Moreover the low level of the production was also caused by the number of attacks of the drill pest (Conopomorpha cramerella) and the rotten illness Phytophthora palmivora as well as more of the unproductive old age crop. All the available problems became the special challenge for Indonesian to achieve the goal of becoming the biggest producer of cacao in the world. The innovation of cultivation technology that could be applied to overcome this problem in part with (1) rehabilitation of the crop by means of continued side-cleft grafting against the cocoa crop that was unproductive became the cloned crop that was more productive, (2) pruning the production has a purpose to stimulate flush and the flowering as well as the growth, (3) right time fertilizing and the dose so that the availability of nutrition for the crop is fulfilled, as well as (4) the control of the pest/the illness especially the drill pest and the rotten illness.en_US
