The Effect of Using Single Pictures on the Eighth Grade Students' Descriptive Text
Abstract
This research was a quasi experimental design with non-equivalent group post test only design. The purpose of
this research was to know whether or not there was a significant effect of using Single Pictures on the eighth grades
students’ descriptive text writing achievement at SMPN 4 Rogojampi Satu Atap. The population of this research was all
of the eighth year students of SMPN 4 Rogojampi Satu Atap in the 2014/2015 academic year. The data were collected by
observation, interview, documentation, and writing test. The result of writing test was analyzed stasticaly by using t-test
with SPSS package. Based on the computation, the mean score of the experimental group was higher than the control
group. It was 70.3333 for experimental group and 51.6667 for the control group. The Significant (2-tailed) column shows
0.000 value, which is lower than 0.05. The research result proved that there was a significant effect of using Single
Pictures on the eighth grades students’ descriptive text writing achievement at SMPN 4 Rogojampi Satu Atap in the
2014/2015 academic year. Therefore, it is suggested to the English teacher, students and others researcher to use this
research as reference.
