HUBUNGAN PERAN IBU DENGAN PENGELOLAAN LIMBAH RUMAH TANGGA (Studi di Desa Sidomulyo Kecamatan Silo Kabupaten Jember)
Abstract
Domestic waste is waste that comes from human activities. The more advanced
human lifestyle, the more waste produced. Waste problems in Indonesia can be
solved through the empowerment of women. The strategic role of women in
environmental management is related to domestic functions of women that have many
intersection with domestic waste. This study aims to analyze the relationship between
the mother's role with the domestic waste management in Sidomulyo Village Silo
subdistrict Jember District. This research type was analytic study with crosssectional
study design. This study was conducted in September to November 2013 in
the Sidomulyo village Silo subdistrict Jember District. The number of respondents
was 96 sample taken by simple random sampling. Data instrument used in this study
were questionnaire and observation sheet. The data obtained was analyzed using
Spearman correlation test with a significance level of 5%. The results showed that
there was a significant relationship between mother's role with the waste and waste
water management in the Sidomulyo village Silo subdistrict Jember District with
correlation coefficients respectively (r=0.716 and p=0.0001) and (r=0.902 and
p=0.0001). Based on these results, it is expected that the mother has better
understanding to the importance of domestic waste management to maintain the
health of themselves and their families, reduce pollution and create a clean residence
environment.
