dc.description.abstractBroiler husbandry in Jember Rehency has a bright prospect for the future in line with the increasing number of consumer demands for chicken meat in market. The benefits gained in running broiler husbandry are higher than the other businesses in agriculture. This is what becomes a reason to people in Jember Regency to run a broiler husbandry. Based on data of 2010 from Husbandry and Fishery Department of Jember Regency were listed 84 broiler breeders distributed in various villages. Broiler breeders in Jember Regency are divided into two patterns; partnership and independent patterns. Problem that persisted at the end of 2010 until early 2011 which became a challenge to the world of farming in Indonesia was the rise in input prices among others were feed rate, DOC, and medicine. The increase in input prices would certainly affect the level of broiler breeders’ income and motivation in running boiler husbandry, so there is a need for strategy of broiler breeders in Jember in order to maintain and develop their husbandry business.
