Abstract
Environment is one of the important factors in causing the incidence of a disease.
Environment consists of several aspects, which consist of physical environment,
biological environment, and social environment. Zoonoses are disease caused by
animals. One of them is plague. Plague is mainly caused by the bite of flea carried by
rats. Sumberjambe and Sukowono are two plague positive areas based on rats
serology test. If rats are found in certain house located in either area, they c ould
potentially cause plague disease. House with rat can be seen from several factors
such as components of the house, condition of sanitation, and the behavior of the
occupants. The aim of this study was to analyze the correlation between components
of the house, condition of sanitation, and the behavior of the occupants with a
number of rats findings in the house. This research was cross sectional study. The
population was 93 houses from Sumberjambe and Sukowono. Sample of this study
was 50 respondents taken through simple random sampling with lottery technique.
The data was collected by applying interview and observation which implemented lux
meter. Data analysis applied statistical test the correlation Spearman. The results
showed that there was significant correlation among components of the house
