    Abstract
    RSD dr. Soebandi is a government-owned hospital that becomes a referral center hospital for the eastern part of East Java Province. Hospital is one of public places that provide public health services essentially on medical services. In order to support the activities of medical services, a food-processing place is required whose activities are in hospital nutrition installation. In order to get foods that are useful and not harmful to the consumers, it is necessary to hygienize food and beverage. Quality of food hygiene and sanitation is influenced by two main factors, namely food handlers and environment where the food is processed. Of the two factors, the factor of food handlers is considered more important because people are active due to their ability to change themselves and the environment into a better direction. Human behavior has a big impact in improving human health degree. This research is an observational analytic research in which researchers conducted a test of existing hypotheses. Samples involved in this research were employees of PT. Aerowisata Catering Service who worked at Installation Nutrition in the production room of RSD dr. Soebandi. The sample size in this research was all of the research subjects as many as 24 persons. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that all respondents (food handlers) have good perception of personal hygiene, as many as 95% of respondents have hygiene practices of food handling in the appropriate category, and there is a significant correlation between perception of personal hygiene and its practice.
