ANALISIS WILAYAH DAN TREND PRODUKSI KOMODITAS PISANG DALAM MENDUKUNG KEGIATAN PERTANIAN HORTIKULTURA DI KABUPATEN LUMAJANG

Abstract

Lumajang is one of the regions horticultural plant producers. Banana is one of the horticultural commodities that has higher production than other horticultural commodities. Because of the variety of banana production each year, there appears unconsciousness in fulfilling the requirements of the society and the industry that need banana as the material. Therefore, it needs a study to find out the production development of banana in the future year. Besides, it needs an appropriate handling in developing banana in order to fulfill the society’s requirement. One aspect that should be notice in developing banana commodity is considering the area condition, that each area is different. This research is purposes to knows (1) production trend and productivity of banana in Lumajang regecy, (2) the basis area of banana production in Lumajang regency, (3) the spreading characteristic of banana in Lumajang regency (4) the role of banana in supporting agricultural activity of horticulture in Lumajang regency. The location of this research is determined purposive method, in Lumajang regency. This research used secondary data of the year 1997-2006. The approach of research methods are descriptive, comparative and analytical. The data analysis tools are trend, LQ analysis, locality and specialization analysis, short-term revenue multiplier analysis, and area revenue growth analysis, also contribution analysis. The research results showns that are: (1) The production trend and productivity of banana in Lumajang regency show raise inclination, (2) The producer areas of banana in Lumajang regency that becomes the basis production areas as the sub district of Tempursari, Pronojiwo, Candipuro, Yosowilangun, Rowokangkung, Padang, Pasrujambe, Senduro, Gucialit and Ranuyoso, (3) The Lumajang regency characteristic of spreading the banana same in location of all and there is especially effort of banana plant agriculture in the Lumajang regency, which means the sub areas that are observed have a special activity which is relatively more prominent than other sub areas, (4) The basis sector of banana can support the agricultural activity of horticulture in Lumajang regency.
