PLIKASI KONSENTRASI BUBUR CALIFORNIA DALAM BIOCOATING TERHADAP TINGKAT SERANGAN BUSUK BUAH (Phytophthora palmivora Butl.) PADA TIGA KLON KAKAO (Theobroma cacao Lin.)
Abstract
Cocoa has a good ability to grow in Indonesia but is still unable to produce
optimally because of interference of some cocoa diseases. One of the diseases that
endanger cocoa plant is a pod rot caused by fungi P. palmivora. There are several
techniques to overcome this disease, one of the new alternative techniques is by
condomization. The application of condomization technology has some
weaknesses, some of which are expensive and creating a lot of rubbish in the
plantation area. The researcher was attempting to solve this problem by
developing a new technique in order to protect the pod from decay by covering
the pod using biocoating. Biocoating can be an effective protecting layer if it
contains materials that serve as fungicides. Californian Generic Pesticide is an
ingredient that functions as a fungicide used in this research.
The aims of this research are to know the effect of Californian generic
fungicide concentrations in biocoating to reduce the attack level of P. palmivora
in three cacao clones (TSH 858, Sulawesi 1 and Sulawesi 2) and to know the
optimal concentration of Californian generic fungicide in reducing attack level of
P. palmivora.
