dc.description.abstract | This study describes the influence of delivery technique, messages, methods, and
media against workers' knowledge level about occupational health and safety risk
management. Hazards, the severity of hazard and the control of hazards in the
working unit must be known by the workers. But from the results of preliminary
studies it is known that some workers still do not know the type of hazards, the
severity of hazard and the control of hazard. Based on that, it is known that the
communication which is done is still less effective. So the researchers formulated the
subject matter is there any influence of delivery technique, message, methods and
working group media of Occupational health and safety risk management against
workers' knowledge level about Occupational health and safety risk management.
This study aims to determine the characteristics of the respondents, analyze the level
of delivery technique, message, methods and media. The type of this study is a
quantitative research methods and using a cross-sectional approach. Samples were
taken by using a random sampling. Research sample are workers in the ammonia
plant unit I of PT. Petrokimia Gresik. The research was conducted in June 2011. The
data was collected through interviews with questionnaires. Based on the results of
logistic regression statistical tests, it is known that there was a significant effect
between delivery technique and knowledge. There was a significant influence
between messages and knowledge. There was no significant effect between the
methods and knowledge. There was no significant effect between the media and
knowledge. Based on the results of multivariable analysis may note that delivery
technique has the greatest influence on knowledge. Based on the result of this study,
it is expected that in the future the communicator can be more convincing in telling
the risk management. Beside that, the company have to improve in the formulation
and writing of the existing occupational health and safety risk profile so the workers
could better understand the dangers that exist in the workplace. | en_US |
