Hubungan Tingkat Harga Diri dengan Perilaku Cyberbullying pada Remaja di SMA Negeri 3 Jember
Abstract
Cyberbullying as manifest of juvenile delinquency is caused by low self-esteem which affects the appearance of aggressive behavior. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between self-esteem levels with cyberbullying behavior in adolescents. This study used an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. Respondents in this study were 319 students and obtained by using proportionate stratified random sampling technique for each class at Senior High School 3 Jember. Questionnaire Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) was used to measure self-esteem levels, while The Second Revision of the Revised Cyber Bullying Inventory-II (RCBI-II) which has been modified was performed to measure cyberbullying behavior. Data analysis was performed by the chi-square correlation test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that ρ-value 0.148 or which means there is no relationship between self-esteem levels with cyberbullying behavior. Further research is needed on other factors that haven’t been studied to be associated with cyberbullying behavior variables such as experience of violence,body mass index (BMI), peer group, family factors, and self-control.
