Penerapan Gaya Expository dalam Film Selubung Kabut Ranupani
Abstract
Ranupani is a lake in Ranupani Village, Lumajang Regency, which is part of the Bromo Tengger
Semeru National Park (TNBTS) area. The lake is one of the natural tourist objects in Lumajang
Regency, located at an altitude above 2000 meters above sea level. With the development of
tourism from the government, it will add a new perspective regarding the management of existing
resources in Ranupani Village. This documentary film tells about the readiness of villagers and
indigenous peoples in adapting to new environmental conditions, such as villagers who were
farmers must be ready to switch jobs related to tourism, and the threat of ecological disaster.
Documentary films generally act as an element that educates the audience and society.
Documentary films themselves take events, people or objects, both recent and past, and interpret
them in a series of basic ideas which are used as the starting point for making films. So, the use of
expository style is appropriate to provide information directly to the audience. The creator takes
directing specialization as part of this final project. The documentary film "Selubung Kabut
Ranupani" tells about Ranupani Village which is part of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park
conservation area, is experiencing an ecological disaster. One of the contributing factors is the
pattern of agriculture carried out by the villagers and also the development of tourism which has
become a polemic. The use of the expository style by using voice over as a narrative guide through
the narrator aims to convey a direct message to the audience about the events that occurred in
Ranupani village as well as to minimize misinterpretations so that the message can be conveyed.
