Fortifikasi Daun Ketela Pohon Menggunakan Lisin terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Perkembangan Ulat Sutra Eri (Samia cynthia ricini D.) (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae) serta Pemanfaatannya sebagai Book Chapter
Abstract
The eri silkworm (Samia cynthia ricini D.) is a polyphagous insect that
can consume castor bean leaves as primary food leaves and cassava leaves as
secondary food leaves. The nutrients contained in cassava leaves are lower than
castor bean leaves, so it is necessary to add nutrients to cassava leaves by
fortification. Fortification was conducted by adding lysine as an additional
nutrient added to cassava leaves. The aim of this research was to determined the
effect of fortification using lysine on growth and development parameters. The
research was conducted using RCBD (randomized completely block design) with
four treatments, each of which used 10 larvae with 3 repetitions. The
concentrations used in this study were 1%, 2%, 3%. The data was analyzed using
ANOVA Univariate, and followed by LSD 5%. The result showed that the highest
result on cocoon weight was 2.558 g. The highest average in cocoon shell weight
was 0.285 g. The highest average on shell ratio was 12.18%. The highest mean
wingspan was 12.17 cm. The highest mean developmental time was 42.87 days.
The highest mean fecundity was 280.60 eggs. The highest mean hatchability was
71.06%. Based on the results, the concentration of lysine that has the most effect
on the growth and development of eri silkworms is 3% lysine concentration. The
results of this research were written in the form of a book chapter which this book
chapter received an average book chapter eligibility score of 85.49%.
