Pengaruh Intervensi Family Caregiver Empowerment Model (FCEM) Terhadap Self-Efficacy pada Pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Banjarsengon Kabupaten Jember
Abstract
Lack of family support results in decreased self-management and self-efficacy of T2DM patients. The family has a role in helping the patient's self-management and increasing the patient's self-efficacy. The Family Caregiver Empowerment Model (FCEM) is an empowerment intervention for families that can improve self-management skills and self-efficacy in T2DM patients. This study aims to prove the effect of FCEM on the self-efficacy of T2DM patients in the working area of the Banjarsengon Health Center Jember. The research design used randomized control group with pretest-posttest design with cluster random sampling technique. The sample of this study was 85 T2DM patients divided into the intervention group (n = 41) and the control group (n = 45). Data were collected using the Diabetes Management Self-Efficacy Scale (DMSES) questionnaire and analyzed descriptively and statistically (dependent t test and Mann-Whitney test). The results showed a significant difference in self-efficacy between the intervention and control groups (Z = -7.922; p = 0.000). The provision of FCEM interventions is very effective in increasing the self-efficacy of T2DM patients.
