Proses Produksi Batik Tulis di Bhatik Sidomoelyo Desa Wisata Sidomulyo Jember
Abstract
Batik is one of the intangible cultural heritages that is the identity of the 
Indonesian nation. Bhatik Sidomoelyo is a batik under the auspices of Sidomulyo 
Tourism Village. Bhatik Sidomoelyo has two types of batik, namely hand-written 
batik and printed batik. The purpose of writing this Final Project is to find out 
how the production process of written batik in Bhatik Sidomoelyo, Sidomoelyo 
Tourism Village, Jember. The data used is qualitative, the data sources used are 
primary and secondary, the data collection method is obtained by conducting 
observations, documentation, literature studies and interviews with employees at 
Bhatik Sidomoelyo. From the data obtained, it can be concluded that the hand-
written batik production process has six stages, among others: (a) drawing a 
design using primissima cotton cloth, (b) writing wax on the fabric using wax and 
canting, (c) coloring the fabric using remasol type fabric dye, (d) locking the 
color by coating the fabric with waterglass (e) removing the wax by boiling the 
cloth with boiling water mixed with detergent, tapioca starch and waterglass and 
(d) packaging the cloth. a piece of batik cloth measuring 2 meters takes about 2-4 
days to process, depending on the difficulty of the pattern and coloring process. 
The making of written batik is still done in the traditional way, which causes the 
price of written batik to be higher than other types of batik.
