Pengaruh Model Problem-Based Learning Terhadap Computational Thinking Skill Siswa SMP dalam Pembelajaran IPA
Abstract
Computational Thinking Skill (CTS) were among the important skills in the 21st century that could help students develop fundamental problem-solving abilities relevant to modern science and technology. It was known that the application of CTS in educational and learning practices in Indonesia was still not well-implemented and maximized, as evidenced by the CTS taxonomy material in the PISA 2021 results and previous research. In fact, the lack of CTS among students, based on previous research, was caused by students generalizing learning and teachers' lack of innovation in preparing learning plans. The aim of this research was to examine the influence of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on students' CTS. This research referred to a quantitative research approach with a quasi-experimental design type. The research design used was a nonequivalent control group design. The results of data analysis showed that the CTS of the experimental class was higher than that of the control class. Based on the results of the right-tailed t-test on students' CTS, it was known that the value of t count > t table (3,044 > 1,680) thus Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted,, which meant that the comparison showed a better average value in the experimental class compared to the control class. Based on the results obtained, it could be concluded that the Problem-Based Learning model had a significant effect on the Computational Thinking Skills of junior high school students in science learning.
