Pengaruh Pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education terhadap Hasil Belajar Pokok Bahasan Balok dan Kubus pada Siswa Kelas IV di SDN Tenggarang 1 Kabupaten Bondowoso
Abstract
Mathematics is an abstract object so it is more difficult for students to 
understand geometric material. The results of the PISA study show that only = 
7.5% of children were able to work on geometry material, lower than statistics 
material = 61.9% and number material = 53.7%. The purpose of this study was to 
determine whether there was an effect of applying the RME approach to the 
learning outcomes of the subject of beam and cube in fourth grade students at 
SDN Tenggarang 1 Bondowoso Regency. This study used a quasi-experimental 
research design with an equivalent control group design pattern which was 
carried out at SDN Tenggarang 1, Bondowoso Regency in the odd semester of the 
2023/2024 academic year. The research subjects consisted of 28 students in class 
IVA and 26 students in class IVB. The data collection method in this study used 
pretest-posttest questions. The data analysis technique used is the Independent 
sample t-test. The results of the t-test are tcount (3.236) > ttable (2.006) which means 
that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. Based on these results it was concluded 
that the RME approach was able to have a positive influence on student learning 
outcomes on the subject of blocks and cubes in class IV students at SDN 
Tenggarang 1 Bondowoso Regency with an effectiveness level of = 30.4%.
