“Pengembangan E-Modul Pelatihan Guru Sejarah SMK Berbasis Backward Design dalam Meningkatkan Keterampilan Berpikir Sejarah Menggunakan Model Borg & Gall
Abstract
The subject of History plays a crucial role in shaping our understanding of the past
and provides valuable insights into the current context. In this regard, the
capabilities and competencies of teachers are of utmost importance. The main
problem of this research and development is how can the e-module history teacher
training in vocational high school based of backward design to enhance historical
thinking skills?. Therefore, this research aims to develop an e-module history
teacher training in vocational high school based of backward design to enhance
historical thinking skills using Borg & Gall models. Historical thinking skills
encompass a teacher's ability to organize historical information, analyze historical
sources, interpret historical events, and draw conclusions based on available
historical evidence. The e-module design follows the principles of backward
design, including defining learning objectives, identifying performance evidence,
and designing learning experiences. The development process, guided by the Borg
& Gall model, involves problem identification, theory development, instrument
creation, data collection, analysis, validation, revision, limited testing, field testing,
and final revision.
The test results demonstrate that the E-Module for History Teacher Training in
Vocational High Schools, based on Backward Design using the Borg & Gall model,
is capable of improving historical thinking skills. Teachers utilizing this e-module
improve their ability to organize information, analyze sources, interpret events, and
draw relevant conclusions. This Research and Development study contributes to the
development of backward design e-modules for history teacher training in
vocational high schools. It provides insights for educational institutions and
curriculum developers to enhance history education quality.
In conclusion, this Research and Development study emphasizes the importance of
enhancing historical thinking skills among history teachers in vocational high
schools through e-module training. The developed e-module, based on backward
design and the Borg & Gall model, improves teachers' abilities in various aspects
of historical thinking. This study advances history education in vocational high
schools and offers valuable guidance to educational institutions and curriculum
developers for enhancing history instruction.
