Pengaruh fraksi volume dan temperatur curing pada komposit epoxy berpenguat serat daun nanas
Abstract
The rapid development of technology in the automotive industry, especially in increasing the
production needs of making car interiors, one of which is car bumpers. The way to meet these needs is to
use natural fiber composites because they are renewable, biodegradable and easily available. In this
study using Polymer Matrix Composites (PMC) is a composite material and Matrix consisting of polymer
resin. Natural fiber is used in research as a reinforcing material in polymer composites because it has
biodegradable properties. Pineapple leaf fiber has the potential as a reinforcing material that can
compete with synthetic fibers (glass fiber, carbon fiber, and aramid fiber). Fiber content such as lignin,
wax and other impurities will affect the fiber and Matrix interface bonding. The purpose of this study was
to know the tensile strength and impact of pineapple leaf fibers. The research method is by volume
fraction variation and curing temperature. After the composite fabrication process, tensile testing and
impact testing were carried out to determine the strength value of the pineapple leaf fiber composite.
After tensile testing, optimum results were obtained at 12% fiber variation and 100°C curing
temperature of 78,993 MPa. In the impact test obtained the optimum value of the fiber volume fraction
variation of 12% and 100°C curing temperature of 348.40 J/mm
