Pengelolaan Program Kecakapan Hidup (Life Skills) Berbasis Potensi Lokal dalam Meningkatkan Keberdayaan Warga Belajar di Pkbm Al-Fayyad Kabupaten Banyuwangi
Abstract
Program management is crucial, as good management ensures that the goals of an institutions programs are targeted and beneficial to its learners. PKBM Al-Fayyad is a PKBM (Community Learning Center) that has relatively good program management, particularly in its life skills program. What makes this program interesting is that it is based on local potential. The local potential around the PKBM environment is diverse however, the community lacks the competence to utilize these potentials. The program utilizes local potentials such as agricultural products like salak fruit and spiny spinach, as well as the utilization of coffee packaging waste and baby diapers. The aim of this research is to describe the management of the local potential-based life skills program in improving the empowerment of learners at PKBM Al-Fayyad in Banyuwangi Regency. This research employs a descriptive qualitative research design. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validity techniques used are prolonged engagement, increased persistence, and triangulation. Data analysis is conducted using the Miles and Huberman model. The results of this research indicate that the management of this life skills program is relatively good, following the functions of management which include planning, organizing, motivating, conforming, evaluating, and developing. Furthermore, the program is also able to improve the learners empowerment, as evidenced by their enhanced skills and improved quality of life. In conclusion, this research highlights that the management of the life skills program is fairly good, although the organizing and conforming activities still need improvement. Additionally, the program has demonstrated its effectiveness in enhancing the learners empowerment, as shown by their improved skills and quality of life.
