Pengaruh Gaya Kepemimpinan terhadap Kinerja Karyawan PT. Kereta API Indonesia (Persero) Kantor Pusat Daerah Operasi IX Jember
Abstract
PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) collaborated with minimarkets and travel-based apllication like Traveloka to sell train tickets. They also launched an application, named KAI access in September 2014, was providing online purchases, cancellations, and refunds of train tickets. The existence of the application made it easier to purchase train tickets without having to come to the station and queue. However, there are still people who still buy tickets directly at the station, such as those who don't have a smartphone, the elderly who have difficulty using a smartphone, or those who want to buy tickets at a partial price a few hours before the train departure. The presence of employees at stations is still important to managing train ticket service and other station operations, including finance and human resources. The purpose of this study was to explain the effect of leadership style on employee performance at the of PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Head Office Operation Area IX Jember. This study saw the influence of leadership style on the employee’s performance of PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Head Office Operation Area IX Jember, where leaders with good leadership style have an effect on improving employee performance. The change in leadership style affects the performance of the Head Office of PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operation Area IX Jember can be inferred consisting of indicators of decision-making ability, motivation, communication, responsibility, and emotional control of employee performance. Indicators of work quality, work quantity, knowledge, reliability, and cooperation are also factors of assessment of employees. The research approach used in this study is a quantitative approach with explanatory research. The time used for research was 3 (three) months from April to June 2023 with a population of 107 employees and using the slovin formula, 84 employees was obtained as a sample. From the results of research and data processing, concluded that leadership style influences employee performance, which means that H1 hypothesis is accepted.
