Analisis Pengaruh Paparan Medan Elektromagnetik Elf Intensitas 500 µT Dan 1000 µT Terhadap Kerapatan, Panjang, Dan Diameter Tulang Femur Mencit Balb/C
Abstract
Several studies state that exposure to an ELF magnetic field is very useful in bone treatment because at the appropriate intensity it can help the process of bone cell formation. Therefore, ELF magnetic fields can have potential as an alternative therapy for osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is a medical condition characterized by decreased bone density and increased bone fragility. The aim of this study was to examine the biological effect of exposure to Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) electromagnetic fields with an intensity of 500 µT and 1000 µT on changes in femur bone density in Balb/C mice, with density as an indicator. The research design used in this research was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The number of test animals was 42 BalB/C mice which were divided equally into 3 groups. The data obtained was analyzed using Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS). Exposure to Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) electromagnetic fields intermittently for 3 hours/day for 30 and 60 days had an effect on increasing the density and diameter of the femur bones of Balb/C mice. Meanwhile, for the length of the femur bones of Balb/C mice, no significant differences were found. The group that showed the most significant difference was the group with an exposure intensity of 1000 µT and an exposure duration of 60 days.
