Peningkatan Laju Pelepasan Ketoprofen Dalam Formulasi Gel Ketoprofen-Polivinil Pirolidon Dengan Gelling Agent HPMC
Abstract
Ketoprofen is a non-steroidal and inflammatory drug (NSAID) which is practically
insoluble in air and does not interfere with Cyclooxygenase 2. Ketoprofen is an organic
acid group drug which functions as an antipyretic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory. The
way ketoprofen works is by inhibiting the formation of prostaglandins and thromboxane
from arachidonic acid. The increase in the dissolution rate in the Ketoprofen-PVP K-30
solid dispersion system occurs due to the solubilization and wetting effects of PVP K-30.
The optimum dissolution rate of Ketoprofen occurs in the solid dispersion of Ketoprofen PVP K-30 with a ratio of 1:9. Based on these results, this research was carried out to
determine the magnitude of the increase in the release rate of ketoprofen in the
Ketoprofen-Polyvinyl Pyrrolidone K-30 (1:9) solid dispersion gel formulation using
HPMC gelling agent with the dissolution method. Testing of the resulting gel includes
evaluation of the physical and chemical characteristics of the preparation including
organoleptic testing, pH, viscosity and spreadability in the preparation. The data that has
been obtained is then analyzed using the T test.
