MANAJEMEN RISIKO KESELAMATAN DAN KESEHATAN KERJA DI LABORATORIUM RSUD DR. MOHAMAD SALEH KOTA PROBOLINGGO

Abstract

Laboratory services in hospitals is a service that needs special attention in terms of hospital occupational health and safety, because it has higher risks and need special arrangement of the room, special equipment, and also management of dangerous material specifically. The aim of the research was describing risk management of occupational health and safety in laboratory of Dr. Mohamad Saleh’s hospital Probolinggo city. The research was a descriptive research. The samples were all laboratory personnel which totalling 17 people. The research was located in laboratory of Dr. Mohamad Saleh’s Probolinggo city. The variables of the research were hazard identification, risk assesment, risk evaluation, and risk controlling. The results of the research in the laboratory found some hazards. They were potential danger of mechanical, electrical, chemical, biological, ergonomics, and psychology with the highest likelihood degree was very possible (B level) and the highest consequency was major (4 level). The highest risk rating is extreme risk so that risk evaluation that was used to control the risk that include generally unacceptable risk category. The hazard should be controlled by elemination, substitution, engineering control, administrative control, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The researcher suggests to provide laboratory safety equipment, hold training of laboratory occupational safety and health, and apply the policy from the hospital in the application of standard operational procedure.
