Optimasi Parameter Proses Ekstrusi Biji Bioplastik Berbahan LDPE-Kedelai
Abstract
LDPE plastic causes the problem of plastic waste not being able to decompose naturally. The problem is caused by LDPE plastic which has non-biodegradable properties. This is the background of previous research by mixing synthetic plastics with bioplastics. So this study was conducted to increase the biodegradation rate of LDPE with a mixture of soy-based bioplastics. The mixing of LDPE and soybean bioplastics is carried out using an extrusion method which aims to mix LDPE and soybean bioplastics evenly with variations in barrel temperature parameters, screw rotational speed and soybean bioplastic mixture composition parameters. The extrusion process produces bioplastic seeds that will go through biodegradation testing and morphological testing using the SEM method. In biodegradation testing, the results of extrusion of LDPE-soybean bioplastic seeds will be printed in the form of flat sheets using the compression moulding method. This biodegradation test was carried out with variations in burial for 5, 10, and 15 (days). The biodegradation test on the results of this bioplastic seed produces the optimal value for each parameter, namely at a temperature of 95 ℃, a screw speed of 50 rpm, and a bioplastic composition of 20gr. The results of the bioplastic seed biodegradation test concluded that the parameters of barrel temperature, screw speed, and bioplastic composition are parameters that have a significant effect on the results of the bioplastic seed biodegradation test. Morphological testing using the SEM method found bioplastic agglomeration and the results of the bioplastic seed mixture were not homogeneous due to the uneven distribution of bioplastics.
