    Abstract
    Indonesia included in the top 10 world rankings that have the highest prevalence of LBW cases. Data from the East Java Provincial Health Office in 2020 stated that Jember Regency become the highest number of LBW cases in East Java. In 2021, LBW cases in Jember Regency still very high, namely 10.1%. This study aimed to find out more about the description of the determinant factors of LBW in Jember Regency. This study used a retrospective study design that used total sampling technique, namely 75 mothers who have LBW babies in Jenggawah, Silo and Patrang subdistricts. Data were collected through question sheets, MCH books and analyzed with univariate analysis. The results showed that from 75 LBW samples, 37 people (49.3%) had LBW babies weighing 1500 – 2500 grams, 24 peoples (32.0%) had LBW babies weighing 1000 – 1500 grams and 14 people (18.7%) having a LBW baby weighing <1000 grams. Most of the respondents who had LBW babies were at risk age (52.0%), less gestational age (73.3%), inadequate nutritional status (50.7%), multipara parity (50.7%), mother's education level was elementary school (48.0%), low economic status (52.0%), no congenital abnormalities (76.0%), cigarette smoke (58.7%), mothers do not consume alcohol (100.0%), anemia (54.7%), not experiencing pregnancy twins (93.3%), incomplete ANC visits (52.0%), no previous history of LBW (90.7%), and very far from home (36.0%). Health workers were expected to be able to increase their knowledge about risk factors in pregnant women in order to prevent the birth of babies with LBW.
