Hubungan Pajanan Media Massa, Frekuensi Konsumsi Fast Food dan Aktivitas Fisik dengan Kejadian Gizi Lebih pada Remaja di SMA Negeri 2 Jember
Abstract
Background: Overnutrition occurs due to an imbalance between the amount of intake that enters the body with low energy expenditure, which can result in the accumulation of excess fat in the body. The incidence of overnutrition in adolescents can be caused by several factors such as exposure to mass media, frequency of fast food consumption, and physical activity.
Methods: Cross-sectional study with a sample of 91 students of SMA Negeri 2 Jember in January-March 2023 with accidental sampling technique. The instruments were a mass media exposure questionnaire, Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ), and physical activity questionnaire (Physical Activity Level). Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis (chi-square test).
Results: The percentage of overnutrition in adolescents at SMA Negeri 2 Jember was 17.6% with the category of mass media exposure rarely (61.5%), frequent fast food consumption (50.5%), and inactive physical activity (75.8%). And the results of the analysis of the relationship between mass media exposure and the incidence of overnutrition p-value 0.233, the relationship between the frequency of fast food consumption with the incidence of overnutrition in adolescents p-value 0.109, the relationship between physical activity with the incidence of overnutrition in adolescents p-value 0.340.
Conclusions: Mass media exposure, frequency of fast food consumption, and physical activity do not have a significant relationship with the incidence of overnutrition in adolescents at SMA Negeri 2 Jember.
