Senior High School Students' Perceptions of English Online Learning During Covid-19 Pandemic: A Descriptive Study
Abstract
This study aims to explore senior high school students’ perceptions of English online learning during covid-19 pandemic. The study involved 117 twelve- grade students of a senior high school in Banyuwangi, Indonesia. This descriptive study involved close-ended questionnaire, survey, and google form to collect the data research. Results found that the students’ perceptions on English online learning showed different perspectives on each aspect. It was proven as their perceptions could be concluded as follows: (1) The school LMS (Learning Management System) was not maximally used due to uncompleted features, (2), Internet network and compatible devices could affect students’ motivation during online class, (3) The English teachers were not capable enough to find creative and interesting online material nor suitable teaching method, (4) students tended to spend more time on self- study.
