Probolinggo Regency is one of the regencies in East Java Province, with a diverse regional topography, making it enjoyable to carry out spatial research. Rainfall variability can cause various impacts on the agricultural sector, one of which is the fluctuation in the productivity of rice and corn in Probolinggo Regency. One effort to overcome this impact is to analyze the effect of rainfall on the productivity of rice and maize to determine the extent of the relationship between the two considering that climate research and site-specific productivity have yet to be carried out on a large enough scale. The aims of this study were: (1) to determine the type of rainfall pattern in Probolinggo District and which stations are affected by the ITCZ, (2) to determine the spatial distribution of rainfall in Probolinggo District, (3) to determine the relationship between rainfall and the productivity of rice and maize in the District Probolinggo. This research was conducted from December 2022 to June 2023 at the Land Resources Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jember. The method used in the spatial analysis of rainfall is IDW, whose output is monthly and annual distribution maps. In contrast, the analysis of the effect of rainfall on crop productivity uses a simple linear regression method. It is presented in a regression graph which shows how strong the relationship between the two variables is. The results showed that Probolinggo Regency has a monsoonal type of rain pattern, and there is an ITCZ phenomenon at several stations, namely the Friendly, Pakistaji, and Ronggotali stations, which are marked by a significant increase in rainfall in March. The spatial distribution of rainfall in Probolinggo Regency is also quite varied. The station with the highest monthly rainfall is Adiboyo station, while the station with the highest annual rainfall is Tiris station. The effect of rainfall on rice productivity in Probolinggo Regency has a strong relationship with an R2 value = 0.7122. In contrast, the effect of rainfall on maize productivity has a fragile relationship with an R2 value = 0.0302.en_US
